Chinese tech giants, Huawei Cloud and Tencent Cloud, have both declared their interest in the growing metaverse and web3 technologies.
Huawei Cloud has formed a metaverse and web3 alliance with a group of companies including Blockchain Solutions, Morpheus Labs, DeepBrain Chain, and Polygon.
The partnership will provide the members of the alliance with high-value, targeted exposure to Huawei’s user base for cloud services and provide a comprehensive ecosystem for both fields. The announcement was made during Huawei Cloud’s Asia-Pacific (APAC) Partner Leadership Summit in Bali, Indonesia.
Tencent Cloud announced its commitment to promoting and developing the Web3 ecosystem by launching its brand-new Metaverse-in-a-Box offering at its Web3 Build Day event in Singapore.
The company has also signed an MOU with Ankr to create blockchain API services, creating a high-performing, globally distributed, decentralized network of Remote Procedure Call (RPC) nodes that will enable Web3 developers to power their projects.
The metaverse and web3 themes represent the next iteration of the internet and are key components of Huawei’s plans. The alliance between Huawei Cloud and the companies will focus more on these themes rather than the partnership between other crypto projects and cloud service providers.
The Asia-Pacific (APAC) region’s significant clients, including China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom, attended Huawei Cloud’s invitation-only event, which intended to provide customers with a diversified and more expert web3 infrastructure and solutions. The alliance enables the partners to collaborate in related sectors and allows interested parties to form new business relationships.
