MetaMask has released version 10.28, which allows users to manage, view, and send NFTs (non-fungible tokens) on the popular Chrome browser extension. The new update introduces an NFT view for ERC-721 and ERC-1155 tokens, making it simpler for users to interact with their digital assets.
With this new update, MetaMask Chrome extension users can effortlessly manage and send their digital collectibles by viewing NFTs. While support for ERC-1155 tokens is coming soon, users can currently view all their ERC-721 tokens. To enable the automatic detection of NFTs, users must turn on the feature in the settings.
If automatic NFT detection is enabled, MetaMask automatically retrieves NFTs on the Ethereum mainnet. Users can also add NFTs on other networks manually. To access the NFTs tab on the homepage, users must ensure that NFT autodetect is enabled.
In cases where NFTs are on EVM-compatible chains such as Polygon or BNB Smart Chain, users may want to add an NFT manually. To do so, users can connect their wallet to OpenSea and locate the NFT’s details on the profile.
MetaMask’s latest update is a step toward enhancing user experience by bringing NFT management directly into the Chrome browser extension. As the popularity of NFTs continues to grow, updates like these can play a significant role in streamlining the use of these digital assets.
