Skodaverse India, a subsidiary of Skoda Auto India, has ventured into the innovative domain of Web3, making its debut with the successful sale of 128 distinct Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).
Students Contribute to NFT Designs
In just over two hours, all 128 NFTs were quickly snapped up by eager buyers, each one encapsulating Skoda’s remarkable 128-year heritage.
Skoda Auto collaborated with budding creative talents for this initiative. Notably, design students from the Pearl Academy in Jaipur and the MIT Institute of Design in Pune played pivotal roles in crafting the NFT designs. These students had the unique opportunity to blend Skoda’s rich automotive legacy with contemporary artistic ingenuity.
Priced at ₹5,000 (approximately $60) per NFT, these digital assets were minted on the NEAR Protocol, a platform highly regarded for its carbon-neutral principles and endorsed by the South Pole.
Exclusive Perks for Skodaverse NFT Holders
Owning these Skodaverse NFTs offers more than just possessing a one-of-a-kind artwork. Skoda has added extra incentives for the owners, including customized merchandise featuring their unique NFT designs, exclusive car accessories, invitations to premier Skoda events, and a complimentary airdrop of their forthcoming NFT.
Automotive Industry Embraces NFTs
Skoda’s strategic move mirrors a growing trend among global brands that blend technology with tradition. By interweaving their storied history with the contemporary NFT phenomenon, they are crafting new and engaging narratives.
As the Web3 landscape continues to expand, it will be fascinating to observe how more automotive giants respond to this digital wave. For now, Skoda Auto India joins the ranks of other prominent brands like Porsche, Lamborghini, and Aston Martin, who have also ventured into releasing their unique NFT collections.
