The Solana Foundation, an organization dedicated to the advancement of the Solana blockchain, has announced the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) through the implementation of a ChatGPT plugin developed by Solana Labs. This integration allows users to leverage AI capabilities within the Solana ecosystem and can be accessed by downloading the open-source plugin from GitHub.
Developers have emphasized that the ChatGPT plugin provides a convenient way to interact with Solana data and protocols, as well as to obtain information about Solana’s computing infrastructure and decentralized finance (DeFi) projects. The current functionalities of the plugin include features such as purchasing non-fungible tokens (NFTs), token transfers, transaction inspection, interpretation of public account data, and the ability to discover NFT collections based on their floor prices on Solana.
Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder of Solana, highlighted the significance of AI models in the development of consumer-oriented applications, stating that incorporating AI into the interaction with computer systems represents a new paradigm for instructing computers.
To further explore the intersection of Solana blockchain and AI, the Solana Foundation has increased its funding commitment for grants to $10 million, up from the initial $1 million. The foundation has already received 50 grant applications for its rolling grants program.
In addition, the Solana Foundation has launched a three-month accelerator program aimed at university students. This program allows participants to experiment with blockchain and AI technologies. As a result of the accelerator program, an “ask Solana U chatbot” has already been developed.
Within the Solana ecosystem, Hivemapper introduced AI Trainers last month, enabling the conversion of real-world imagery into high-quality digital maps. This technology incorporates details such as speed limits, warning signs, and other relevant street-related information. Solana developers have reported that 5.7 million AI training reviews have been initiated by protocol contributors, resulting in the consensus achievement for 500,000 objects.
The integration of AI into the Solana blockchain showcases the platform’s commitment to innovation and the exploration of new frontiers in technology. By leveraging AI capabilities, Solana aims to enhance user experiences and drive advancements within the blockchain space.
