Starbucks is set to launch its first non-fungible token (NFT) collection on April 19, as part of its rewards program called Odyssey Web3. The “First Store Collection” NFTs will feature 5,000 unique digital souvenirs representing the iconic brand, each priced at $100. The multimedia collages will include photos, in-store textures, and prominent icons inspired by the coffee giant’s first store located in Pike Place Market in Seattle. This NFT collection comes after the successful launches of the Holiday Cheer Edition 1 and the Siren NFT collections.
Notably, customers who hold two Starbucks NFT stamps will have early access to the new collection. Furthermore, app users who own an NFT will receive 1,500 rewards points. Odyssey Web3 rewards program is designed to provide unique rewards to Starbucks’ customers who use NFTs and blockchain technology. Customers who engage with the brand’s content and purchase drinks from its stores can earn points to access rewards such as a donation to Feeding America, virtual coffee preparation, and the opportunity to name a tree at Starbucks’ coffee farm in Costa Rica. Additionally, users will receive a custom Starbucks tumbler featuring their NFT art.
Starbucks is the latest company to leverage the growing popularity of NFTs, which offer a unique and verifiable way of owning digital assets. The move also highlights the coffee giant’s growing interest in blockchain technology and its potential applications in enhancing customer experiences. With this initiative, Starbucks aims to attract more customers and strengthen its brand loyalty while creating an innovative and engaging rewards program.
