Atari, an iconic name from gaming’s heyday, is re-entering the blockchain arena. The renowned brand revives its Atari Club, complete with Members Only jackets, but with a twist: these sought-after garments are exclusively reserved for Atari ARC NFT holders.
Retro gaming jackets
Launching on Thursday and available until December 1st, these navy blue zip-up jackets are a contemporary reimagining of the ’80s originals. Unlike its predecessors, these jackets feature more substantial material and an embroidered Atari logo that deviates from the original removable patch.
The initiative is part of an official collaboration with Members Only, a fashion brand that shares a heritage rooted in 80s gaming.
The official website reveals that owners of the ARC NFTs, which were introduced in May, will not only get early access to these jackets, but also have voting privileges, discounts and pre-sale access to other merchandise. While the new jackets won’t be in buyers’ hands until February or March 2024, the company is offering a temporary solution: fans can purchase logo patches to adorn the jackets upon arrival.
The gaming pioneer has previously marked its 50th anniversary with the release of “phygital”. The gaming giant has teamed up with Pixels.com to launch a collection of NFTs combined with physical posters and framed prints.
Symbolizing more than fashion
Members Only jackets are more than just a fashion statement. They symbolize a bridge between eras, paying homage to the past while supporting the evolving digital future.
