Web3 educational technology startup Open Campus secures $3.15 million in funding from Binance Labs, sparking a 6% surge in its native token, EDU.
The cryptocurrency-centered educational platform, Open Campus (EDU), recently closed a $3.15 million investment round led by Binance Labs, as confirmed on November 27, 2023. This influx of funds is aimed at amplifying the platform’s focus on NFTs and expanding its user base within the Web3 ecosystem. Following this announcement, the project’s native token saw an impressive 6% surge, briefly hitting $0.65, as reported by CoinGecko.
Yat Siu, co-founder of Animoca Brands and a council member of Open Campus, emphasized that this investment aligns seamlessly with Open Campus’ overarching objective of “decentralizing education and exploring innovative avenues to bolster educators.”
Open Campus has enjoyed support from Binance since its early days, dating back to April 2023 when it first appeared on Binance Launchpad, the exchange’s crowdfunding platform. Notably, the project garnered significant traction, attracting over 120,000 users on Binance who committed a total of more than 9 million Binance Coin (BNB), currently valued at $2 billion, according to the token sale description page.
