Com2uS, the South Korean gaming powerhouse behind XPLA, has forged a pioneering partnership, enlisting Google Cloud as its inaugural volunteer validator.
This strategic collaboration aims to harness Google Cloud‘s robust infrastructure, ushering in a new era of growth and innovation in web3 gaming.
Currently, the XPLA network actively undergoes voting for the formal integration of this volunteer validation system. Notably, the proposal boasts unanimous support, securing a resounding 100% of votes in its favor as of the latest update.
Operating on Tendermint, the fundamental architecture of the Cosmos network, XPLA stands compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine. Its gaming repertoire includes acclaimed titles such as “The Walking Dead: All-Stars,” “Summoner’s War: Chronicles,” and “Ace Fishing: Crew,” aligning with the emerging trend of blockchain gaming centered around “play-to-own” concepts.
This alliance marks Google Cloud’s ongoing foray into the blockchain realm, building on its prior validation roles across networks like Solana, Tezos, Aptos, Polygon for Ethereum scaling, and the DeFi network Celo. Furthermore, its collaboration with Coinbase has facilitated seamless cryptocurrency transactions.
However, XPLA’s adoption of volunteer validators diverges from the traditional model, redirecting potential rewards to a collective pool rather than individual validators. This innovative approach, though progressive, sparks inquiries regarding the sustained dedication and dependability of validators sans direct token incentives.
The efficacy of this novel model hinges on active involvement from entities like Google Cloud and the community pool’s efficacy in upholding network integrity and engaging participants.
In response to the announcement, the XPLA token faced a minor setback, experiencing a 7% dip in the past 24 hours, currently trading at 0.273 based on CoinMarketCap data.
This collaboration signifies a landmark step towards reshaping the landscape of blockchain gaming, fostering transparency, and heralding a new wave of innovation in the web3 ecosystem.
