Gucci teams up with YUGA Labs, the creator of BAYC, for a multi-year partnership that will explore the intersection between fashion and entertainment in the Metaverse. With this latest move, the Italian luxury fashion house further cements its place as an early mover in Web3.
This is not the first time that Gucci has ventured into the Web3 space. In 2022, the brand collaborated with 10KTF on a project called “Gucci Grail,” where digital artisan Wagmi-san created clothing and accessories used to personalize NFTs with the designs of then-Creative Director Alessandro Michele. The brand also created another NFT collection called SuperGucci last year.
Furthermore, Gucci was the first luxury brand to establish its own space within Animoca Brands’ digital real estate platform The Sandbox. This strengthened its position in the metaverse with the experimental concept store Gucci Vault Land.
