    MetaMask Introduces New Features

In a recent blog post, MetaMask, a Web3 wallet application, has unveiled new features that provide users with enhanced privacy and greater control over their data.

MetaMask had previously relied on its Infura RPC node to automatically connect to Ethereum when a user set up the wallet, which meant that users’ IP addresses were transmitted to Infura before they had a chance to modify their node. However, the new version of the MetaMask extension, called “10.25.0,” allows users to select an “advanced configuration” during setup, where they can choose to connect to a different RPC node than the default Infura one.

The new version also includes privacy enhancements for the mobile version of the application. Previously, users were only able to connect all of their accounts or none at all to a Web3 app. However, the latest version allows users to connect specific accounts to an app without disclosing the other addresses they control.

The new features give users more control over their data and privacy by allowing them to choose which servers are authorized to receive their IP address. MetaMask’s parent company, Consensys, owns Infura.

In summary, the new MetaMask features aim to enhance privacy by providing users with more control over their data and ensuring that their IP addresses are not automatically transmitted to servers owned by the parent company.
