Ubisoft reveals the minting date for “Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles,” signaling the studio’s debut in original blockchain gaming with the minting of their “Warlords” NFTs set for December 18.

Champions Tactics introduces an innovative NFT launch approach by offering 8,000 Warlord NFTs entirely free. The private mint opens on December 18 at 6 am ET for those on the “darklist” and at 2 pm ET for the general public, only requiring Ethereum network gas fees for minting. These NFTs double as game avatars, depicting pixel-style heroes armed with weapons, resembling social media profile picture (PFP) NFTs.
Owning a Warlord NFT brings exclusive advantages, granting access to a subsequent mint of in-game playable characters. Ubisoft plans an undisclosed future date for Warlord NFT holders to mint five “Champions Tactics” characters for free.
Operating on the Ethereum-compatible Oasys chain, 9,999 Warlords NFTs will be minted, with 1,000 allocated to the Oasys community and 999 held by Ubisoft for future marketing and giveaways.
Ubisoft Keeps Game Details Confidential
While game specifics remain a mystery, Ubisoft shares glimpses of Grimoria’s lore, featuring seven distinct factions with unique aesthetics. The dark fantasy, player-versus-player tactical RPG promises figurine-like characters akin to collectible tabletop game pieces. Set for an early 2024 PC launch, Champions Tactics was initially revealed in June 2023.
